Embracing Change and Stay Open-Minded

I finished my final exams and I’m no longer in school. I still need to process this information. Nine years of school are just gone. Two years of that were in complete lockdown, and I didn’t see my friends face to face. Most of my classmates were unknown to me. The pleasant surprise was that I got to know some of the students better and now actually like them. We had a little grill party with the teachers after our Abisturm (graduation prank or senior prank. It refers to a tradition in many German schools where graduating students (Abiturienten) organize playful pranks, games, and activities on their last day of school before the final exams. These events are often lighthearted and celebratory, marking the end of their school years). Sometimes, you have to be open to new ideas or even people. You never know what will happen. Discover new things. Find new hobbies. Find a lifestyle that suits you. No matter what you’re doing, always be open-minded. Look beyond your own horizon. As I did that, my life became more enjoyable. Especially when you don’t take every piece of advice on social media seriously. You only live once, so you might as well enjoy it while you’re here. I also got to know the teachers better. After all, they’re just humans like you and me. We tend to forget that from time to time. Not every teacher is cool, though. Some people are just strange. They don’t understand the world around them, so they hate it and become hysterical. It is pointless to discuss or argue with these people.

"Never argue with a fool; onlookers may not be able to tell the difference.” ~Mark Twain

Remember that for your future. Discuss only when it’s really necessary, not when you feel like it. That’s why I avoided arguing with this particular person. I could have argued, but I would have wasted my time, and the person wouldn’t change their opinion, no matter how many arguments I used.
